Information Technology Manager, Hines Trucking, Inc. January 2008 - current. Responsible for six Windows 2003 Servers, two Windows 2000 Servers, and about 35 Windows XP desktop units with Office 2003. Software administered: Symantec Backup Exec 11d, Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 8.0 and 8.5, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005, SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Exchange, Geologic/XATA messaging system to about 200 tractors MobileMax units, TMW Systems, TotalMail, TMW Asset Manager (Transman), Microsoft Great Plains 10, Crystal Reports, Navarre Reports Scheduler.

Danny Stewart Consulting / Video Tape Invoicing. 1984-current, part-time. Since 1996, business/technology consultant, specializing in needs of small business, such as local area networks (LANs), connection to internet (WANs), web site development (eg. southwestarchives.com, swpsych.org, depotmuseum.org, all with XML and Java routines and heavy integration of web forms to database). Prior to 1996, writing and marketing a dBASE/Clipper computer program that handled the front counter rentals of videos and back office management of video stores.

Title IV-E Arkansas Partnership for Public Child Welfare. July 1996 - February 2000 (grant funding for the technology training I did ended). Among the things I did:

  • Taught courses in basic computing, DOS, Windows (3.1 and 95/98) and word processing (WordPerfect and Microsoft Word) to workers in the Division of Children and Family Services, Department of Human Services, State of Arkansas (the agency that benefited most from the grant).
    • Children's Information and Reporting System (CHRIS). MidSOUTH Academy, Arkadelphia AR. 1999-2000, during DCFS Pre-Service Training. Many sessions.
    • Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Outlook 97, and Microsoft Word 97. MidSOUTH Academy for Family-Centered Practice, Arkadelphia, AR. Summer 1999, during DCFS's rollout of these packages. Conducted about 50 sessions.
    • Windows 98 and Microsoft Outlook. DCFS Central Office, Lafayette Building, Little Rock, AR. December 1998. One two-day training for 14 CHRIS support personnel.
    • Computers, DOS, Windows and Microsoft Word. MidSOUTH Academy for Family-Centered Practice, Arkadelphia, AR. 1997-1998. Conducted dozens of two-day training sessions for DCFS workers and staff, with occasional one-day "refresher" courses.
    • Teletechniques Training for Operations. May 20, 1998. SAU Peace Hall. 4 DCFS Workers.
    • Computers, DOS, Windows and Microsoft Word. MidSOUTH Academy for Family-Centered Practice, Monticello, AR. April 25-26, 1998. Two-day training sessions for DCFS workers.
    • Computers, DOS, Windows and WordPerfect. MidSOUTH Academy for Family-Centered Practice, Arkadelphia, AR. 1996-1997. Many two-day training sessions for DCFS workers.
  • Facilitated compressed video and satellite teleconferences and supervised other facilitators for the events. Hosted about 100 compressed video sessions and about 100 satellite teleconferences. Handled monitor placement, camera placement, microphone placement, and associated wiring for compressed video unit. Also, scheduled room.
  • Managed Internet and Intranet servers and databases for the Department (Linux-based). Helped develop resources at SAU and implemented intranet solutions to help personnel reach those resources.
  • Provided technical support (general computer, DOS, Windows, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, e-mail (several programs), Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.) to grant faculty and staff. Helped manage a Macintosh computer lab. Supervised computer assistants.
  • Provided computer support to DCFS workers as requested.
  • Developed curriculum for and taught junior, senior and graduate level courses in computer training and using the Internet and technological resources for research and support of professional jobs.

  • Maintenance and operation of an Internet server (World Wide Web server, e-mail, list server, ftp, etc.) on Linux operating system. Includes compiling of kernel (currently Linux 2.4 series) and programs (Apache, Sendmail, Majordomo, WU-ftpd, PostgreSQL database, HeiTML extensions, etc.) when new versions are available.
